Anduril Industries builds advanced autonomous systems and defense technology to protect US and allied forces. Creating the future of national security through AI, robotics, and cutting-edge engineerin observed
No person- or entity-level identity check is on record for this company. A name match is not one.
The inclusion bar: two or more independent sourced evidence families. This profile is published and listed. It is a statement about how much evidence we hold, and about nothing else.
We have not established fit. That is not a soft no and not a soft yes — it is unknown, and it is never counted as a qualified prospect.
Five evidence lanes (activity, capital, infra, hiring, ecosystem) as within-cohort percentiles, combined with evidence-breadth weights over the 60-company baseline cohort. The ± band widens with missing lanes — it measures what the score stands on. Scores publish at 2+ evidence lanes; this company's tape carries 1 (13 signals/60d), so no number is claimed.
Subdomains appearing in public certificate-transparency logs — infrastructure standing up, dated at detection. Intent labels are deterministic (token map), not guessed.
↗ Strongest signal: funding_magnitude (35% of the score).
↓ Scored on 2 of 5 components — funding_recency, developer, hiring had no computable metric.
The skeptic's read what this company has said, judged against what happened
Unproven ≠ false — it means the deadline or the evidence hasn't arrived. Nothing here is editorial: every count is a ledger row you can open on the Proof page.
No single number decides. Layers can disagree — that's the point. New to this? →
The platform's own early signals for this company — hard-to-fake, and where one preceded a real raise, the measured lead.
And that's what made Andrel so, so, so very successful is being able to get on that change in awareness here in the Valley. And it's been thrilling to see because that success, I think, begets so many other excitement for government companies.
we hadn't seen go and get the money from the largest spender in the entire world, which is the U.S. government. Full stop. Healthcare, defense. In the world. Now, and the Andrel team had a unique understanding how to hyper iterate and prototype and design
my Andrel deal, when it was first starting, definitively non-consensus. Literally could not get Sequoia to take a meeting in the end. 7% take rate from the large primes. Services heavy. They all trade like crap. Just there hadn't been a history of people selling to the government successfully making money. All those things were huge negatives. Like just the category was completely uninteresting as an area. ... the idea was relatively simple, which is I'm going to make products versus services. S
Andrel has a lot of strength in understanding customer needs within the government and how to, like, move products into the government.
certainly true for Andrel in the defense space
It's not just Saronic. You mentioned Anduril, there's SpaceX and Palantir before that. And now there's just a big wave, a big push into defense tech because people realize the importance and the magnitude of the moment that we are living in right now.
we're still using artificial intelligence to bifurcate between an enemy vessel and a friendly vessel, between a non-combatant and a combatant. And people are still making the decisions and setting the mission intent. ... These aren't robots actually just making decisions on when to go to war or not.
We have a shipyard in Franklin, Louisiana. That's where we're building Marada. We're ramping that up to 20 Marada. We can bring that up to 50 Maradas per year every single year.
We're going to start on a 800-acre plot of land, which in and of itself 800 acres is now the largest shipyard in the United States.
So, we've been working on Port Arthur for a long time now. So, Port Arthur just for the listeners is our shipyard of the future. This is going to bring American ship building back to a place that we haven't seen since World War II.
We're talking to um our allies in Asia, obviously, and Europe, and in the Middle East right now about getting not only our our products there, but also how do we stand up, you know, domestic production in those countries.
very very focused on our allies and partners. If you talk to the Department of War, if you talk to the United States Navy, they actually want our allies and partners to have these capabilities as well.
the end state here is that, you know, you have a distributed fleet, you know, across the ocean that, you know, invariably like cuz the ocean is a treacherous place like by default. Um all of those things kind of are networked together with ML, with a bunch of different software um components of the software stack, to make sure that you can basically translate intent from a commander or sailor, and then result in a mission outcome.
using large numbers of autonomous vessels, you can combat these threats in completely different ways. You can offer scale, persistence, and risk reduction in ways that, you know, manned vessels just can't.
We actually don't build those aren't we haven't productized those. Those were great subscale demonstrators, but our real flagship product is Corsair.
there's a bunch of different, you know, machine learning applications that run on our boat today. Um there's heavy amounts of compute on all of our crafts um that allows people to have tons of capability, whether it's, you know, the navigation and kind of the autopilot or self-driving of the craft itself, or compute for payloads.
we could build 2,000 Corsair per year right now at our manufacturing facility in Austin.
When you look at the overall defense Department of War's budget 1% 1% goes to autonomous systems. That's not nearly enough.
our investors are giving us the capital to go do it. They're actually entrusting us with that capital. That's the reverse of what's happening in the large primes where their investors are kind of demanding share buybacks.
we're very encouraged by the push from the administration to adopt things at at speed and scale and to do that quickly and to do that differently, and to move away from cost plus.
we're just about 4 years old. We've raised 2 and 1/2 billion dollars in private capital. We're pouring that into R&D.
So Trey and Palmer, you know, we were the first investors in Oculus, right? And that's how we got to know Palmer, right? We invited him to one of our, you know, let's get together with all of our portfolio founders and hang out and play paintball kind of events. And he met Trey at that event. And then they were both, you know, being like, oh man, nothing really good exists in defense. This is really important. Boom, founding of Andurl. And I don't think you do this every day, right? But you do t
I think a lot of key networks include OpenAI, DeepMind, Palantir, Stripe, Anduril, probably Fair out of Facebook, SpaceX for hardware. You know, there's a small number of places that are spawning all the founders who are doing the really interesting companies.
i support the work he does so i said listen whatever our political differences are i think the more important thing here is i want to talk to you about the weapon systems you're making to protect taiwan ukraine the united states from you know an increasingly dangerous world with dictators
The nice thing about this is that when we go to customers we're not going to them with a white paper saying hey let the taxpayers pay for us to try this out for years and years We say we've already proven that this works It will not be a boondoggle for you It will work We go to them with a working system with a full technical
So we use our own money to decide what to build how to build it when it's done we're building our own products and when we're going to the customer we're not going to them First of all I can't just build whatever I want I can't build a Batmobile and then try to sell it to the army but we talk to them about their problems they understand their problems
So I mean we just won a billion dollar contract with US SOCOM Special Operations Command to do counter drone work
And so at Andrel, one of the ways that we've been able to get around this is just being very clear. Like, you are signing up to work with the Department of Defense. That is the mission that you're signing up for. And I mean, we're about a third U.S. service veterans at Andrel, which is higher than any company that I'm aware of. And we're about 1,000 people now.
I think that building, working in national security has been a great filter where people aren't going to come work for you unless they're okay working in a bit of a controversial field. I'm actually somewhat concerned about the Ukraine conflict in that regard in that in the making, in making defense mainstream, it makes it possible for people to potentially say, oh, that isn't controversial now. I'm going to go to this place and then I'm going to potentially attack people for their views. But I
I was able to create Andrel because a small group of people were willing to give me a second chance to let me build something great in an important but controversial industry that was being constantly berated by people who thought we lived at the end of history. They invested in me while Jason was trying to poison my career and keep me on the ground. Thank God he failed. Thank God for investors who ignore him and people like him.
as a tiny defense company making a handful of purely defensive base security systems that committed the crime of building technology for the military, Anderl was the one that claimed the belt for the world's most controversial technology company.
There was a really interesting cover story in Bloomberg in 2019 that called us tech's most controversial startup.
when I started Andrel, I had already sold the company for billions of dollars and investors still didn't want to invest. I still had a tough time in a lot of meetings with venture capitalists and none of the conversations with VCs that I had were about my ability to hire or execute or build products. Everyone believed that I could do those things, even the ones who didn't like me much. The vast majority of conversations that we had were about whether or not it was even ethically okay to ever bui
i was a seed investor in anduril i imagine you guys have some anduril people here today um great great company yeah great great chat but you know one of the things that that company as as i as you know and i haven't talked to the guys about the details of the business in a lot in the last few years but one of the things that they founded the company on was the idea that the procurement process was broken yeah and that is definitely true in the you know we do way too much cost plus procurement an
So on Thursday, what happened with Microsoft, they had a $24 billion contract with the United States Army to deliver some whiz bang thing. And they realized that they couldn't deliver it. And so what did they do, they went to Anduril. Now, why did they go to Anduril? Because Anduril has the technological supremacy to actually execute.
