No one's going to abandon Facebook. Let's at least not right now, right? Maybe in five years. So they are going to have to be able to make it very easy to replicate whatever you're doing at Facebook that they can capture that and I think Facebook is going to make that uh troubling for them to get that done. So to me that's as far as a killer I think they're way way late and if all they're doing is mimicking what Facebook already does there's nothing interesting there.
it may be great product, even a better product if it was built six years ago, but today it's the game over.
pretty obvious to me we're going to drop Dropbox here because this is a magnitude cheaper 75% cheaper and it's integrated in Google Docs and we're a Google doc shop so this whole idea of like dragging files from Google Docs into you know drop it doesn't make any sense so I mean as much as I love Drew and as much as I love Dropbox I'm personally going to keep using it but I don't see how in an Enterprise that uses Google Docs you would ever do this
Facebook will not face significant user abandonment in the short term, but it could potentially happen within five years.
What happened: Facebook’s user base continued to grow during the five-year window, with no significant abandonment or large-scale decline observed; the predicted user loss did not materialize.

we heard about Google right we said well who's going to be around the longest because we want these files to exist forever right so um it's there is a switching cost it's painful but we're evaluating right now whether we should just go and uh and go with Google

I do know the backstory on this what happened was when Google Docs came out there was this sort of religious argument inside of Google about Google Docs like in the cloud not being not needing to be a drive right so this is like one of these over intellectualization m that companies like Google are prone to do which is well wait why would you need a drive and when you have docs and the docs are already in the cloud and it's a drive so having a drive is redundant Google Docs is the drive we don't
Yahoo effectively got over Overture for free they valued the settlement at zero when they acquired Overture and then they got Yahoo they got Google Shares that that went 5x
Google stole it stole the concept we sued them settled for about a billion dollars

what makes Facebook a interesting economic business is the fact that people play games on Facebook. Over half of the time and half of the money, I think it's 60% of the money Facebook or 50% of the time, right, is games.

Microsoft whoa Microsoft was as a 650 million valuation the reason that's astounding to me is that it was at that time already considered the dominant desktop operating system worldwide um a relatively low valuation
I think the Skype purchase today by the way it's just Microsoft building a Facebook competitor I think they're going to make Skype profile pages into a social network
you have AOL buying bio in a disaster with untrained management not thinking about it but saying hey 50 on a social network when Facebook's worth 10 billion seems like a steal
the entire Google model we sold that for about a billion for to Yahoo would worth 200 billion as Google or let's say it's half Google success is worth 100 billion right
if Microsoft could bring and Google could bring all that money home and buy American companies it would be an m&a field effing day
