in the case of iMessage, you know, they sell phones by locking you into the, uh, platform WhatsApp. No, one's really sure how they make money.
And they even came out with a public statement. Um, a couple of days after explaining or trying to use the argument that they, it was something around protecting users, security and privacy by blocking, you know, third party. Yeah. Services from sending I messages, which to me felt like. Double speak like 1984 double speak where they were actually making the experience worse for iPhone customers by blocking people, many.
So Apple took action to block beeper mini users from being able to send and receive I messages.
So you have an iPhone, you send a message to an Android user before Beeper Mini, it was unencrypted. It was a green bubble. It was a pretty crappy experience.
in the future every single Watch will be smart and every single thing that you wear on your body will begin to get a little bit smarter
the thing I that's most disappointing to me about the Apple watch right now and the reason I don't really wear it is I I found I got too many notifications so a lot of notifications on your smartphone not a big deal you have a big screen but a lot of them on your wrist it's way too much and I haven't figured out how to manage that or mitigate against a flood of them
I think Apple and Google have explained their stories pretty openly apple is making a luxury High fashion high polish watch that's um positioned kind of in the 3 I mean it starts at 350 bucks so it's it's it's an expensive watch to begin with I think they've described a future that has a lot of the elements of the smartphone re kind of reimagined or manifested on the watch on the wrist I think our attitude is fairly it's fairly different we're saying that you know your phone is great I I I love
We launched our product weeks before the Apple Watch came out. A lot of people said, like you like you said, um why why wouldn't you just wait to see? But no, people people voted with their dollars.
Apple's not going to they can't just destroy Pebble.
So, you're going to be half the price of the Apple Watch.
I can't imagine him doing that on any other platform out there. Yeah. You'd have to get approved and then it would kick off all kinds of like
Apple has invested a ton in building a brand around the retina... I wouldn't see them changing and shifting to incorporate something that's as different as eaper.
it was not logical to make a $17,000 watch where the inards cannot change if the inards drive the apps... that's why I don't think that thing's going to sell.
there's only one company in the world that can put on a show like Apple
there wasn't a particular vision that they put forward that said this is why this product exists
they've chosen to use smartphone class components inside their watch um which drives which leads led to probably this delay they said of the battery is just draining instantly people were saying two or three hours of well I think we should probably hold off on well now it's better I think but it was the big you I can say it. You don't have to, but it was a big significant concern. And the thing's not going to last more than a day. It's going to last hours.
Apple builds great products. You cannot you cannot fault them for their uh quality and for their craftsmanship
