What they, what, what the study shows is that people who viewed those videos, it was kind of an on-ramp to more extreme videos on YouTube. They could, and they can, they could track it, right? You know, user by user. And that's, that's the type of concern, um, that is discussed in my piece.
And let me add one thing is you're right. There are some cases where the New York Times will have an editorial, right? That the, the editorial board on the opinion side will give their opinion, but then we have other voices that we ask in, right? All sorts of people.
We are, we're journalists. We're, we're looking, looking at the world, right? We are not trying to cultivate a particular point of view
the currency is not how many clicks you get
they're paying her a million dollars a year to do those podcasts
the Postal Service is making money from its its deal with Amazon right and the Postal Service wasn't you know exactly a thriving operation at the point where they made this deal with Amazon in a lot of ways it was a life raft
as much as this technology accelerates it's not quite where I think the general public yeah perceives it to be sometimes

I'll add to that a sixth place where I think Apple is absolutely failing and shouldn't be which is oculus HTC and Sony Playstation all have exceptional VR offerings and Samsung has a very good one for competitors all with exceptional VR products Apple with none
then you have the watch which is also been tremendously underwhelming and is not as good as fitbit's they're like literally catching up to Fitbit circa you know three years ago
then you have the phone which is now falled fallen hopelessly behind Samsung where there are literally releasing things two years after Samsung full-year is therefore Samsung and that's the best they can do
then we have this project Titan they're gonna build a car and they fail at negotiating with BMW or Mercedes something Steve Jobs where he got that negotiation done and they failed to build an actual car and now suppose they're building an operating system just two failures back to back
they have not been able to release that television nor have they been able to negotiate the OTT over-the-top you know directly ot I guess they call it over-the-top yeah over-the-top OTT basically you can buy HBO you know through the App Store kind of a service or you could build a bundle yourself in the App Store that was what Steve wanted to do that required somebody like that required two things one somebody to vision a visionary hardware person to push forward a physical new category device l
Apple likes to control things and there are good reasons but there are times when it goes too far
what bothers me about the way they operate is that there's always this danger that when you plug something in... it's not going to work because it's not officially blessed by Apple
they have gotten rid of the headphone jack which is the most sturdy and reliable connector probably in our industry... has anybody ever used a Bluetooth device and had it work on the first try or not take 25 seconds
one thing that Apple does do right is it gets things to work right they pretty much work out of the box and that's one of their big strengths
the iPhone you know it's great is it's gonna do great things but this idea that it can just keep improving ad infinitum and do all these incredible things it's just it's just not a reality and and the watch is an attempt to go on to the next thing beyond the iPad I'm I am not convinced that is something that people are really going to want and least not in its current incarnation
